NIB War

June 30th, 2009
By Split

So I’ve wanted to have a war like this since I first heard about the idea. I talked to the Valhalla 2 guys, and they said that they’d rather me not do it before them, but after 2 months, none of them can give me a date. So I picked one. This date should work best for everyone around here. It’s 2 weeks after Deal, not on 4th of July, and 2 weeks before Apoc.

So if you guy’s haven’t heard about this war type, it’s pretty awesome. I’ll probably be expanding upon the ruleset as time goes on, and I’m sure it will vary greatly from the Cinci guys’.

The main idea is that you bring a New in box blaster and tools, and at the start of the war, you mod the gun on site, then use that for the whole of the day. It’s like a modification competition and nerf war all wrapped up in one. Credit for the idea for this war goes entirely to the guys in Cincinnati, Twitch and Bobafan in particular. It’s their game type - I just modified the rules a bit.

L-Bow 0.3?

March 15th, 2009
By Langley

Hopefully the 1.0, if all goes well. Here’s what I got done today. Too bad I couldn’t finish it for PA4

Still needs a trigger, catch, handle and stock. Also, while pulling apart the .2 for some spare parts, I noticed that the plunger head was all cracked and broken, so that it would move forward just fine, but would leave the o-ring in the front of the plunger tube as it was cocked. I screwed a plastic bottle cap and a rubber gasket from a bottle of Grolsch into the end of the new plunger head (which was cracked right out of the box, wtf?).  Hopefully that will make a good enough shock absorber. Also, fuck Google Sketchup.

MCNO Outdoor

February 25th, 2009
By Split

Update! The location has been chosen.  See location directions below

Well, Mcno indoor is getting a few too many participants. In order to avoid restricting entrance, or making people sit out, I’ve volunteered, with the help of Langley, to host an adjacent war, this time outdoor, and down the street. GankFest 3?
The formalities:

Host(s): LGLF

Date: Saturday, February 28, 2009

Location: North Brunswick Township Park, on Stockton Dr and Garner Rd in North Brunswick NJ
Google Directions

The park is great.  There’s a very small playground area, an open area, a long strip of field under some power lines, and a big wooded area with lots of big trees but very little brush.

Parking/Directions:
Follow the google maps link above.  The corner of Stockton and Garner is really just a curve in the same rd.  When you see the sign that says ‘Eisenhower Park’ you’re there. There’s no parking lot, but there’s plenty of parking on the street.  Well be meeting at the picnic tables at this location, but we’ll probably be nerfing in the woods straight back from the road.

Pictures coming soon.

The L-Bow 0.2

January 10th, 2009
By Langley

If you read my previous article, “Damage Report“, you already know that I’ve been trying to make a homemade Nerf gun using a pneumatic screen door closer as the plunger, spring and pressure chamber. After my last attempt, I decided to open up the screen door closer and take a look at the guts of the thing.

The Exhaustive Guide to Crossbows, by Splitlip.

November 30th, 2008
By Split

::Long, sappy intro about crossbows here::

Well, now that that’s out of the way, I want to put up the new guide to modding a crossbow, from start to finish, and from someone else’s terrible finish, back to start, and up to your perfect finish. This is completely intended to replace the old article about levels (I mean seriously, a Level 2 crossbow is stock, but with E-tape to cover the hole in the original barrel).

GankFEST - Kuhlschrank’s war, LGLF Run

November 20th, 2008
By Split

Well, Tyler bailed on his own war. I, personally, have several vested interests in this war, and I know badger does as well, so it will go down. We’re taking over. Try and stop us.

The Harrowing Tale of the Construction and Destruction of the Doorfucker 3000

This was a post I made on NerfHaven back in January of this year about my experiences trying to build a nerf gun powered by a pneumatic screen door closer.  I’m reposting it here because it sets up my next project nicely.  In the near future I’ll be working on another atempt to build such a blaster which I call “The Langley Bow”.  Or just L-Bow for short.

Mods for Beginners: Cheap and easy - Cpvc ‘Splat (Ps-800)

November 3rd, 2008

Mods for Beginners: Cheap and easy, Just Like Your Mother
Cpvc PistolSplat (Ps-800)

This is the first article in a series of modifications that are inexpensive and easy.  The write-up is designed to be used by new nerfers to make it easier for them to get their first primary ready for a nerf war, so they can spend less time agonizing over which gun is best and more time getting out the door and nerfing.

Pros: I’m awesome. Cons: You’re a douche.

Marty, we've got to go back and stop my maxshot from breaking!

Marty, we have to go back to keep my maxshot from breaking!

I’d like to talk about something that’s been nagging at damn near everyone in the LGLF for the last few months, and that’s the ‘Pros/Cons’ format of nerf war reaction threads. First of all, pros/cons is supposed to be a decision making strategy where you weigh the cost vs the benefit of taking a particular action. The war is over, and you’re trying to make up your mind. Unless you’ve got a goddamned flux capacitor and you’re going to go back and stop yourself from attending the war, you sound retarded.

Ice’s war, Lglf run. Be there

October 26th, 2008
By Split

Alright everyone. This isn’t our war, but we will be making an appearance at the “PA War” (on the schedule as “Veteran’s Selection” for god knows why). This is the first war that Ice/Uin13/Jackson will be holding that will actually go down, so Talio will be there to help it along.

LGLF training war and WTF NIC?

October 13th, 2008
By Talio

75% of the LGLF got together for a little Nerf war this past weekend so I decided to refer to it as the LGLF training war. I felt like giving some highlights. Those in attendence:

Langley, Badger, Splitlip, Xeorouge, and myself.

5 people. Yes you heard that right everybody. 5 fucking people got together, nerfed and had a fantastic time. Probably an even better time then we had at any one of the big wars. So here’s how the day went down and a few of the highlights.
